I recommend using dish soap instead of WD-40 or ther petro based lubricants. Dish soap is water soluble, works as well if not better and cleans up more easily.

Put the chrome in before you install the entire setup. Use a lubricant like wd-40 on the rubber, so the rope come out easier. Eric
