Thanks all. I did wind up taking it completely off. Of course I checked the archives after my mid project posting. The PO had already attempted a drilling of one of the holes that was to off center for my skills to correct even with a pilot hole. I am going to have to take it to a machine shop to rebuild the aluminum. I am down to suspending the tranny to pull the engine. So far pulling the engine isn't that terrible. I probably should have done this a long time ago.
