The outer Syncro boots are Teflon so they last longer.  If you are removing
and repacking everything I would take the extra step and install the axle on
the opposite side of the vehicle so you start wearing the "back side" of the
CV to help prolong the useable lifespan of the CV.  You are on a great PM
track by repacking and rebooting.

Hey all,
i am new to the syncro world of vanagon ownership.  since purchasing, i am
pulling everything to see what i am dealing with.  right now i am on the
cv's.  i have pulled the rear and am cleaning them up, repacking them and
replacing the boots.  my question is in regards to the front cv's.  do these
fail  like the front but not as soon?  also, the boots seem different then
the rears especially the outer fronts.  what should i be looking for or
should i not even worry about the fronts.  i am looking for some front cv
wisdom here and some basic cv knowledge.
