Just to be sure, I would jumper power to the fuel pump to be certain it starts with the fuel pump running. On my 85 parts mobile (iirc), there is a box in the engine compartment with 2 relays in it that control the fuel pump. The PO on this van sold it cheap because it kept having intermittent no start on her. Once it did it to me too. I fussed around and traced teh problem to these relays. about that time, it started working again. I didn't pursue it because it's just a parts van, but I assume there is a bad connection in that relay area, or a relay itself is bad.
