Subject: Throttle body/idle stabilizer woes...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

Hey Everyone, I am having two problems...first is...my idle stabilizer is not working...the valve itself has continuity between the terminals...but it's not "buzzing" Looked at the relay behind the rear tail light...looks ok..i took it out of it's case...and there was nothing burnt...checked to make sure i was getting a signal...and i am...i think 4.5 mv or something like that...is it possible to have a bad valve even though it has continuity between the terminals? Is there a way i can hook power to it to see if it is indeed good? Second problem...is i removed the throttle body to replace the throttle switch that went bad. Took apart the throttle body and cleaned and lubricated everything....set the switch up...but i am having a vacuum leak now...it seems to be at the seal where the throttle body hooks to the air distributor. Do these go bad? I cranked it all the way down and it helped some...but there is still a leak...i can hear it. I am sure the seal is seated correctly...Any thoughts on this? Should i just buy a new seal? thanks all for any help, jesse 89 carat
