It would be a lot easier to put the AC unit on a trailer towed behind the van. You could mount a windmill on top of the trailer that would charge the 22 batteries needed to run it while driving. Of course the windmill would have to telescope up and down so the poptop wouldn't interfere with the breeze while camping. Could you run a microwave and a TV off of this thing too?

Seriously, It would have to be anchored down awfully well. I can't imagine the damage that a 65 MPH window air conditioner in free flight would do in a collision or even a panic stop.
