Hi Dean,

Remove the belt, take the water pump pulley with your hand, hold it tight, try to move this one (side to side), is it loose? I bet it's loose!

Under the water pump there is a small hole between the front bearing and the rear one (inside pump), when the pump bearing/bushing is failling (slowly most of the time) the coolant will make it's way to the hole. The hole is there for that unic purpose, to tell you that the pump is cooked!!!

I think that overall, i changed more than 20 water pump lately (cars, va & Westy), for some friend and relative.

Good luck, Ben http://www3.sympatico.ca/huotx/engine1.htm
