Good morning all. I've just replaced my motor with a Boston Bob lovely 1.9. in my 1985 Vanagon GL. Question I have is that I've labled all my wires in the engine compartment prior to taking them off, and have everything re-connect but the oil pressure sensor. Originally there was a brown wire connected to the sensor that terminated in a male spade connector that was enclosed in a yellow plastic cover w/ the VW and germany markings on it. I take it that is original. I don't recall seeing it connected to anything else. Now the only other wires I have left un spoken for are coming out of a wiring harness on the drivers side of the engine compartment near the firewall is a red wire w/ a male spade connector in the same yellow cover w/ germany markings and a brown cable w/ a grounding lug connector on it. This is a smaller guage wire, so I don't *think* it is a 12 volt supply. Not as large as the red going to the alternator. The Bentley specifies the oil pressure sensor wires are Blue and Black, however, I could not find one such as that. Red genrally donates a hot wire. Any ideas ? Thanks much ! |
