I'm only kind of a tech dude, but more importantly i am a buyer dude.

My impression was that these aren't as good as OEM (the casting was pretty rough), and there seemed to be more pits in it than there should be. You know that picture on the e-bay page? He must have polished the hell out of those to get them to look like that. Mine were made in taiwan by A.A. Piston Co., i believe). When i had boston bob look at them, he didn't say much about the pistons, but did say the cylinders were honed like crap. Overall the set wasn't too bad, though.

Overall, i'm pretty neutral to them. The've lasted the 2k miles i've put on them, so far, and i know there are a lot of people who have put upwards of 30-40k on them, so they'll probably last, but that e-bay page was so full of techno-babble hype it is kind of sad. Maybe 10% of what they said was true. I can throw out at you more technobabble crap that even eutectic alloys would tend to be hypereutectic/ have precipitates at the surface because that cools faster... blah da blah...

Anyway, just my impressions, -Damon
