I am putting my 83 diesel Westy on the road as some of you know and
have helped with. I got the van from the parents of a deceased friend,
so I have questions and no answers... so I'm asking here.


I'm waiting on a radiator hose, so I haven't driven it much, and while
I'm waiting I'd like to know about two knobs on the dash:


One, on the left, is the starter knob, I know. But I don't  have a user
manual and don't understand its proper use.


The other, on right, is a knob with a light bulb behind it, with a
couple of click positions. The legend on the front says HEAT. It
doesn't seem to do anything...


Any comments will be appreciated.
