Folks, Continuing the refit of my 91 and am checking out the front brakes. The van brakes attach differently then show in Bentley and the hardware kit from BD.

Instead of the self locking bolts, the caliper housing is held on with a stainless 7 mm allen bolt. The pads are the same though.

My questions are: What torque for the housing bolt? Should caliper grease be use for the s.s. bolt and on the ears of the pads and/or the brake carrier? My reaction is no lube as it will pick up grit.

I might add, new rubber has been put on all around. After reading reams on the archives, I decided on Michelin XCA 205 75 R14. Load range D. This is a light truck tire. They are not cheap, $91.00 each. Safety is a priority.

Best,

Chris Hawkins Lost Nation, NH 91 Westy "Arkle"
