Subject: Eberspacher diesel heater - what's missing?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all. I recently found an older Eberspacher diesel heater at a local junkyard - it was mounted in the cab of a big Iveco diesel. Most everything was there - heater, electronic control unit, wall thermostat, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel tank pick-up, intake and exhaust tubing, etc. I think it's a D1L - the ECU label says it is for D/B-1/2/3-L. However, someone did get to the heater before me, so unfortunately some parts are missing... on the heater unit itself, something has been removed that bolts on at the round end - see picture:

Does anyone know what it is? Or better yet have a picture of what this unit should look like when complete? I did find a blower motor sitting in the cab of a nearby pickup truck which looks suspiciously like it may be part of the heater, but I'm not really sure:

Also, does anyone have any idea where to obtain parts/service/advice for these heaters? According to the Espar website, the nearest service center is in Massachusetts.

Thanks! Doug Fitz-Randolph Freeport, ME '90 Syncro, '86 Pritschewagen
