Robert,

Yes, Frank Grunthaner even put the unit from an 84 type Vanagon into the front of a Westy with some modifications. Should be much easier into a regular vanagon.

Attached is a web page with his pictures and explanations he has posted on the list in a zip file.

When I retire my 84 in the next month or so, I'm pulling the AC unit and saving it to put into one of the other vans.
