I went to Discount Foreign Auto on 30th at El Cajon...

Its a VW parts shop... the guy tried to sell me an oil
filter for an air cooled 2000cc... it was a mahle OC
28... good thing I knew better... I won't go back
there... if I can help it... they don't sell oil
either... strange

Went to Vee Parts in National City...  first guy to
answer the phone gave me wrong directions... second
guy go it right...

They had the right oil filter OC 108 (please don't
tell me I've got this screwed up... I've had mechanics
that have put on golf oil filters... just being
nervous...)... they had the spark plugs I like...
W7CCO (some places only stock W7CC)... and I bought a
trannie kit (screen and 2 gaskets: paper and
rubber).... they mentioned that Dan the Syncro man
came in now and then... that he was a nice guy....

Then I went to World Wide Auto.. and they had Kendall
oil... and Redline oil... but they're didn't carry
Redline Synthetic ATF (equal to dexron IIe) and I
couldn't find that anywhere in san diego... so I ended
up buying it at McKenzies in Orange County/Anaheim....
bit of a pain... but I did notice Redline High
Temperature ATF at Santa Ana Speed (by first and
broadway)... 35 dollars a quart... wow...
