Don't know what you found there, definitely not what I am refering to. The ones we carried cost us around $19.95, though that was a few years ago. We still have a few sets on the shelf that might be able to cut to fit vanagon lights, I have not tried yet as the Westy is not a daily driver and does not come to work often.

What you are trying to make already exists. I work for a Honda dealer and we
used to sell an adhesive backed, soft, clear headlight cover called; Impact
Headlight Savers. We still have a few old sets instock, the only markings on
them is a mailing address:

They may no longer exist, not sure as we have not ordered them in years, but
I have seen a similar product advertised within the last six months. If you
cannot find any specifically to fit your van, just order some for a car with
larger lights and cut them to fit.
