Subject: 2-week wait on a diesel water hose?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed

I recently blew a water hose on my 83 diesel... of course it was the complicated one going 4 different places. Not only is it $$$$$, but if it comes in before this weekend, it will have been 2 weeks since my shop ordered it from VW.

Anybody else have a similar experience? Back in the day of fooling with British cars, we used to have a shop braze up special fittings for the tees and branches so we could use plain hoses to replace hard-to-get OEM hoses. Anybody have any recommendations or warnings on this?
