I couldn't get a replacement Vanagon trans mount in time, so I had a Rabbit mount pressed into my old mount, then added a urethane insert to see how it worked. Put it all in tonight and took a spin. As expected, the urethane insert transmits lots of noise and vibration to the cabin, so it will probably have to go. Sure is nice and tight though - no more driveline slop. I'll drive it a bit more before pulling the insert to see if I can live with it (I doubt it). -- Shawn Wright http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright '88 Westy 375k '85 Jetta D 263k '85 Jetta TD 482k (retired) ~This message sent by Pegasus Mail, the safe E-Mail alternative~ "Friends don't let friends use Outlook" |
