No doubt the PO had experienced some overheating problems .... probably enough to blow the sensor out of the tank. Unfortunately, he reused the old sensor and the plastic threads were badly damaged. Inspect your sensor's threads .... you may have to replace it. BTW ... my tank was fine. I found that when I put the new one in, a bit of vasoline helped it screw in much easier and probably helped the O ring to seal. Mike '84 GL 7 pass '85 GL Westy |
