Thanks All! Since I have been playing with this problem off and on for too long, I took the easy way out and spliced in a new wire from the connector under the dash to past the break in the boot, going towards the door. I used tap-in connectors which were easier than stripping wires and soldering or crimping in limited space. Examination of the other wires didn't turn up any problems. At least visible ones! Yes, I may have to re-visit the problem, but I have become expert at popping off the door panel, dropping the fuse panel (after disconnecting the battery neg.), jumpering wires and tracing continuity. On my "to-buy" list is a new automatic stripping tool. Jerry |
