That seems prudent to me. I cruise at a steady 60 mph in my diesel -- the same speed I used to drive my '75 aircooled bus. At first it seems pretty slow, but after a while you get in the groove of just cruising along with your elbow on the window sill and letting the usual freeway chaos flow around you. It's surprisingly relaxing. VW vans are slower-paced, look-around-at-the-scenery sorts of vehicles. In my opinion, if you have to get somewhere in a hurry you should be driving something else. (That's what my Civic is for!)
