Sorry I dont have answers to your particular questions, but an excellent place to get information on stereo and what fits a particular vehicle is cruthfield. Very important to make sure the stereo will fit the space in the dash; some are too deep. I recently ordered a kenwood krc-108s from them and highly recommend them for info as well as ordering from. Cant say enough positive about them. I do have 6x9 speakers in a speaker box in my 82. They do not sound as good as speakers properly mounted in the van (lack of base), but it is nice being able to move them around. Stereos and speakers are quite easy to install yourself, especially if your are just replacing whats there with similar size. Basically plug and play. Crutchfield provides a detailed install guide and you can even get a wire harness specifically for your vehicle. Maybe think about doing it yourself. good luck. crutchfield-
