Subject: throttle position - when it stops going faster
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi,

I find that when grinding up big hills, I need to push the gas pedal down more (obviously).

There is almost always a point where more pedal makes no more noticeable difference in acceleration, or additional engine grunting noises.

HERE IS THE QUESTION: Do I use more gas by just flooring it? Should I tickle the gas until I find that sweet spot?

I haven't had much chance to test the mileage with both techniques, and can't visualize how the fuel is metered depending on load, RPM, and throttle position.

Thanks,

Dan Brideau 1985 Westfalia
