because the higher compression of diesels demands a more reliable
crystalline structure in the metal.
 The do-it-yourselfer can remove the block and take it to a machine shop for
a "short block" rebuild, that's the shortest path to the goal.


My diesel short block was 1200$, yours may be higher.
