Subject: Parts Needed for Rebuild-1.9l or 2.1l?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hello, A gentleman recently asked how to tell a 1.9l from a 2.1l by looking and I have a similar need. I have my engine out and all apart but I can't fine anything in my factory manual that says for certian what is different in them. The van is a 1983.5 but the engine has been swapped. My questions are:

1. What is the difference that makes up the extra 0.2l? (Crank? bore? stroke? combination?)

2. I need a complete rebuild gasket kit for it, are they the same? Vendors, please quote me a price.

3. To clean the block halves and head I should send them out to be cleaned at a machine shop shouldn't I? This is my first complete rebuild but I'm pretty good with a wrench. ;)

Thanks, Steve
