Yeah, the blue one is incandescent... but only because blue LED's were just a tad expensive in the mid/late 80's!

If mine ever burns out I'll certainly replace it with a nice diffused blue LED and an appropriate resistor... There's certainly no need for an incandescent bulb now that blue LED's are under $2.
