Subject: Wonderful Paint Job - No Start
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I recently took my 87 Westy to the painter. He did routine body work (lot's of sanding) and painted the entire vehicle. When I picked it up he said "that sure is a hard vehicle to get started huh?" No, it ran like a top prior to bringing it in. I was able to get it home after about six kills on the way.

The engine compartment was completely coated with dust from the body work. I figured that it must have sucked too much dust. I washed down the engine, checked the air filter (clean - no sign of the dust) and it still wouldn't stay running for more than a couple minutes. Pretty sure it's not getting gas. Any suggestions where to start. Not just to "easter egg" the system but, I ordered new fuel pump, fuel filter because I suspect they are original and it has 171K on the vehicle. New engine 5K ago.

I bought the Westy a couple of months ago from folks that had left it sit for months without very much gas in the tank. I did fill it up just before taking it in also.

Larry
