Nice idea.

I've installed a third brake light on the inside of the top of the window. It is a cheapy I found in Whitney's offerings and has 20 LEDs. I led the wire through a plastic loop fastened at the upper driver's side corner, crossed the gap to the upper corner of the hatch frame, and taped it in place down to the tail light. Before attaching it I spent time getting it aimed to my satisfaction. I'm happy with it for what it cost ($15 delivered).
