I just bought the best light the other day from American Science and
Surplus... Its a 5 led headlamp (on a headstrap) with two settings: 2 red
led's blinking, or 3 BRIGHT white led's.  The best feature?  It comes off
the headstrap and has a rare earth magnet on the back.  So when you're
under the van... just stick it somewhere and work!
