Subject: Removing old gasket material
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

Hi all,

Does anyone have any tips on removing old gasket material from an engine case? I am (very slowly) rebuilding my 1.9 liter engine out of my '84 and am currently working the engine case over. Some of the old, baked on, gasket material is difficult to remove and I want to get these areas clean so the new gaskets will seal properly. Mostly, I am using a razor blade and a brass brush in a Dremel tool.

Yes, I have searched the archives.

Thanks,

-Dyer Lytle in Tucson
