My 82 air cooled only has one thick gasket between the intake and head (on each side), I guess you are calling that the "heat spacer". I have no paper/foil. I never had any leak problems on the van nor on a 914 I had in the past, so didnt have to use any sealant. Maybe check the surface of the intakes and heads and smooth with emory papaer. Are you sure the leak isnt in the injector seals?, you can move them around while running to tell.

I have been told that this is not stock. Does anyone know if the two paper gaskets are necessary? Is the heat spacer all that is needed. Along the same lines, can anyone reccomend a sealant that can be applied to the gasket to ensure a tight seal? I hesitate to use high temp silicone sealant because any that pushes out when I torque the manifold down could end up in the cylinder. > >Thanks, >Jake_beaulieu@yahoo.com > > >--------------------------------- >Do you Yahoo!? >The New Yahoo!
