Could be many things or even not the clutch at all. Does it do it worse in reverse? Worn engine mounts cause or aggravate this if so.

A COMPLETE clutch job done yourself is about $200-250 for all the parts and machining if you shop carefully.

The tranny weighs under 100 lbs. HarberFright sells a tranny jack for $50 on sale much of the time. These support the tranny much better and I don't know how I lived without one for so long.
