This is a topic that has been on my mind to inquire about. My SO's(significant other's)1990 Audi 200 Quattro Turbo Wagon has just such a circulating pump on it. It is a very simple unit with one inlet and one outlet. Has anyone out there tried using one on their van? Obviously you would have to hook up a thermal switch, timer and relay to make it operate hands free. Comments, thoughts, suggestions??

yes, but it is stupid. On the a2's the fan will pull air through the radiator and over the engine to cool it. Whereas the vanagon will pull air over the radiator but that air doesn't get over the engine nor does the coolant cycle. What is needed is a small electric pump that will cycle coolant while the after-run coolant fan is on. Unless there is enough thermo-syphoning going on to make it work. Doubt it.
