Hello list, I have decided to sell off my 81 westy in order to buy a late 80's or 90 westy. I have found several prospects, but I have a couple of things I would like to run by the list to assist in my final outcome. First off Automatic Transmissions, my wife would love it, she seems to have the gene that will not allow her to properly operate a clutch, will this make the van even more gutless? In my 4 speed air-cooled I can cruise at 70 quite nicely and get up most grades in my area at a least 60. Second alloy or steel rims, is this merely a cosmetic decision? Third there is a seller on ebay who is selling 85 and up westies, that are all very beautiful http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=15291&item=2436344910 and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15291&item=2435665091 if you look at his previous auctions you will see he has been selling other westies too. Has anyone bought any of these? My current van was a ebay purchase, and I regret some aspects of the transaction. Thanks In Advance to all those helpful emails Johnny 81 Westy |
