You might check with List Member Robert Lilley. He built a "Lilley" engine .... internal parts coated with ceramic material amond gother things.... and as I recall he installed a new exhaust system which included ceramic coating and then wrapping the pipes with insulating tape. His goal was to increase power, performance, and life of the engine and systems, and heat control was a big issue. As I understand it, the effect of the ceramic coating combined with the insulating tape was spectacular.
