Yup. If "marker lights" means parking light, then we mean the same.

Hey, how come I didn't think about the diode (trivial) solution?...

It would be much easier if I didn't need to tap into the wires but rather could find the relevant circuit points in a convenient location such as an empty socket in the fuse box...maybe a "Y" connector on one of the light switch connectors, etc. Any idea for easy connection points (no wire tapping needed)? Also, I might need TWO diodes, 1 for every parking light. Any single connection point solution?

No, it seems I don't need to monitor the turn signals after all. My mistake.
