What I did cost me 6 bucks and looks great. I'll post some pictures if I get a chance.

I got an 8' 4x4 ('cause they didn't have it in 6'), and a 6' 1x6, both treated. I bolted the 4x4 to the supports coming off the back of the frame where the bumper would go, so that the top of the lumber was even with the top of the supports. I cut the ends off at a diagonal, then screwed the 1x6 onto the top of the 4x4, so that it comes to the back of the 4x4, but extends over the steel supports. I cut the sides of this at a diagonal too, but let it extend a little past the 4x4. It looks great, and is real sturdy.
