Hi Jeff,

You are smart to get the flywheel surfaced - it will help the new clutch grab better.

Don't worry about too much metal being taken off - you would have to have it surfaced dozens of times. Also, I have never seen the spec on the distance between the friction surface and the surface the pressure plate is bolted onto. If you go to a good shop, they will take an equal amount from both surfaces, which maintains the distance.
