Travers,
        Jim maybe able to help me out on this but I
think this is a dust boot not a boot to keep the oil
in.   You may have a bad seal, plugged vent or just
drive too fast.   Check the tranny oil from time to
time and perhaps slow down a bit until you are sure
the leak is gone.   regards gary
