The idle mixture screw effects only that, the idle mixture. Other driveability problems are caused elsewhere.

Dear List Does anyone know where approximately the air/fuel mixture screw (allen bolt) on the AFM should be set on an air cooled 1981 Vanagon? I changed the setting on mine and can't get it back where it should be and now it is running very bad (dies on acceleration; running very hot). How many turns from fully seated should it be? Thanks Michael
