Subject: Weber help anyone?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

82 Van aircooled, single Weber(yr old) all of the sudden dies last night while idling. Does not restart. Immediately go thru entire ignition system(been having troubles) but all is perfecto with ignition. Points are new, gapped, dwell at 50, timing at 7.5 BTDC, nice blue-white spark.

Onto the fuel system-aha we have a problem: fuel is coming out of carb and leaking down onto manifold. Plenty of fuel coming to carb, each barel fills with gas with key on.....

I immediately think "problem with float." Call a buddy this morning and he immediately interupts: "stuck float"

Question: if float does not have a hole in it am I safe to just clean it or should I definitely replace it? Rebuild carb while I'm at it?

Remember: all was 100% fine until instantly it flooded last night. This Van is driven daily 50 miles.

Thanks!! Paul '82 GL
