I have an 83.5 and this part is not on my van. My shifter link broke two years ago (the part that this boot apparently covers). I have been to the junkyard and checked three vans, none of which had a full boot like the one in the picture. The part I took has a much smaller little rubber boot attached to the cup that the trnsmission ball slips into.

Matthew: I'm curious how the bike inner tube and zip ties would be arranged to act as a boot?
