I am not sure where it stores since I dont use mine, hopefully someone else can provide a better answer. I personally dont like the table and never used it so I dont keep it in the van; it seemed to be in the way, from what I remember. I guess that answers question 2 and 3. There are only 2 of us and we eat at the back seat, back table. It is a stretch to reach the back table from the front seats, so if you use your front seats for eating, you probably would then benefit from having the front table.
