Volks,

There is a FRAUDULENT eBay spoof email making the rounds.

Recently I received a couple of very official looking emails from what appeared to be eBay.

From: eBay [users-support@ebay.com] Subject: Official Notice for all E-Bay users

These emails explained that there was a problem with my account and that my eBay bid or buy access has been restricted until I click on this link to update my info.

http://211.170.186.104:8089/%69%6E%64%65%78%2E%68%74%6D

The link page asked for:

- userid - password - credit card numbers - SS numbers - etc

Suspecting Fraud ... I contacted eBay.

Their reply "

"The email you reported did not originate from, nor is it endorsed by, eBay. We are very concerned about this problem and are working diligently to address the situation. We have investigated the source of this email and have taken appropriate action."

Be Careful,

Larry Chase
