Hi,

There are other VW models with crumple zones that did just as poorly.

1993-94 VW Eurovan----------- Van-- 3860 (* ) (*** ) 1987--- VW Fox--------------- 2Dr-- 2610 (* ) (* ) 1981--- VW Jetta------------- 4Dr-- 2650 (* ) (** ) 1982--- VW Quantum----------- 4Dr-- 2954 (* ) (*** ) 1980--- VW Rabbit CV--------- 2CV-- 2767 (* ) (*** ) 1982--- VW Scirocco---------- 2Dr-- 2680 (* ) (**** )

Scroll up the page to see other manufacturers, such as the 4Runner and Suburban with one *. I guess my point is is that it isn't all about having no front end.

Keep a safe distance in front of you - don't follow too closely. And stay in the right lane as often as you can to avoid front-offset crashes (most common front impact).
