Subject: 85 van and Insurance companies
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Volks, and volkettes,

You may remember that my insurance company wanted to total my 85 Westy based on a value of $2300. After I culled the vans being sold on the list, the local papers and all the on line sources you so nicely supplied and sent the results to my adjuster he said he'd ask the company that valued the van to redo it.

They had not even looked at Westys, let alone campers. Ignorance indeed.

My insurance adjuster called, the new value on just Westys [not just westy campers] is more than double and the van will be repaired!

Hooray! all that money and time put into redoing the engine, suspension, brakes, and AC won't go completely to waste.

Even at that they valued and original, unupdated van [original engine and suspension bushing, etc] higher than one with all that done. I was ready to argue about that but not necessary now.

The van is not yet fixed so I'm not celebrating too hard, but I'm getting ready.

Must have been all the good thoughts da bomb sent the van's way, or the tough ones she sent to the insurance company.

Thanks to all for your help/support.

Mike
