Subject: car talk vanagon caller

Although you're right that Click & Clack (the cartalk bros.) don't think
highly of our vans, i did hear one of them talk about how one morning in
boston at a stop light, an early '60's rusted out bus roared up next to him.
He said that the nostalgia alone was enough to make him offer to buy the
van from the driver on the spot. The driver declined, and happily drove
away.
They don't think very highly of any VW's, btw, as i've heard them regularly
say how unreliable even the brand-new ones are.
The part of this caller's comments i found funniest were when she was asking
about the possible subaru forester they were looking at as a replacement for
their westy...she said something along the lines of "ok, so it's a great
car, but will my husband still be able to go out and tinker w/it...because
that if he can't, he would be devestated!"
just shows how addicting the vanagons/buses are.
Cartalk is a fantastic show for anyone whose never heard it.

>Zero. I was waiting for her to say she was considering a Honda Element
>which is about the closest I can come up with and it still falls short in
