Jeffrey sez: I've been running these tires for about 8000 miles now and notice no undue road noise.

I guess the question is: compared to what? When I first replaced the wimpy passenger-car tires which were on my Westy when I bought it, I do recall noticing that the new LTX tires had a more distinctive 'buzz' at street speeds. I attributed this to the more aggressive light-truck tread pattern and the higher air pressures I'm running (48F/50R). Since then, they have either quieted down or I've simply grown accustomed to them.

Overinflated tires will have a certain 'singing' road noise to them, whereas tires damaged by excessively hard driving--such as fast mountain descents accompanied by hard, braking curves--can exhibit a growling sound like off-road truck tires on pavement.

"OK, I'll leave it at that since I've already gone on for far too long about something I don't know a whole lot about ..."
