OK, here goes my nickel. I have the 16" GoWesty-type wheels. I had the Michelin X-ONE's on them until a trip to Durango, CO. It was raining, there was a lot of debris from the canyon walls on the road and I hit a pretty large rock with both right tires. Both sidewalls blistered. MY OPINION: the low profile sidewalls, although a real good feature to stabilize the van (it drove like a slot car, even fully loaded), were too low and vulnerable to absorb the impact. I now have taller reinforced tires on the van and although it does not handle quite as crisply, I feel less vulnerable to such incidents. I like the way it handles rougher dirt roads now. Was in the Moab/Canyonlands area last week and drove some fairly long rocky, dirt, sandy, steep roads out onto the White Rim.

As you can see I had to do the spare shift to put it on some device on the rear, and that is only because I wanted 225's and they will not fit in the stock spare or modified spare carrier under the front.
