Okay, I know it sounds wierd, but mine was doing this, although I didn't make a gas quality connection, but it just got worse and worse until the car would actually stop running for a time. It was an electrical problem in the fuel pump. I know it's not the least expensive part in the world but you might give it a try. Good luck.
