One of the responses to my question about a way to hold open the Westy cabinets was to use the smallest and lightest bungee cord which has hooks about the size of a large paperclip. I had one, so while fitting it, I discovered the hooks by themselves work great. This was a cord whose elasticity was about gone, so I cut off the hooks and put the hook over the existing curtain cord and the coiled wire part fits perfectly over the edge of the upturned lid. Low tech, no installation and just leave the hooks on the cord when not in use.

Here's another tip I got from list member and master cabinet maker Leon in S. California. If you have a paper towel holder and while driving or camping and the breeze is blowing, the towels tend to unroll, mount a spring-type door stop in the surface above and in the middle of where the towel holder is mounted. The spring pushes against the towel roll, keeping them secure in the breeze.

Two new products from 3M/Scotch. A transparent duct tape they claim last 6 times longer than ordinary duct tape. I am not a fan of duct tape, but this looks okay. Could use it to seal vacuum leaks. The other product is insulated electrical terminals/connectors that are heat shrinkable. Crimp 'em and shrink 'em.

Jerry
